There are several things you can do to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection in your home.

According to a study conducted by the EPA, UV-C LED technology is able to kill any kind of bacteria or virus. We don’t know the specific UV-C dosage necessary to kill the coronavirus, but viruses are easy to eliminate in general. Sterilization of most viruses and bacteria will occur at the 1000 microwatt range.

How It Works

There are three demonstrated methods of controlling airborne infection that has proven results: ventilation, particle filtration and UV.

Filters

Any air cleaner that removes particles from the air has some potential to reduce exposure to coronavirus. How effective do filters need to be in order to significantly reduce the likelihood of infection via airborne transmission?

HEPA filters are 99.97 percent effective at trapping particles down to 0.3 microns in size. However, like many viruses, coronavirus is very small, measuring between 0.06 and 0.14 microns in size. HEPA filters will have some level of effectiveness, but not 100%.
