Service Legends to Give Away Up to $10,000 to Children’s Cancer Connection

Angela Newton Digital Marketing Specialist

Kicking off their 2nd annual Tune-Up Challenge, Service Legends Heating and Cooling will donate $60 to Children’s Cancer Connection, a local non-profit, for every furnace tune-up booked in the month of September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month) up to $10,000.

At Service Legends, we know firsthand the pain of a parent whose child has been diagnosed with and battled cancer. Our very own team member, Austen Winterbottom, faced what every parent never hopes to have to deal with when his daughter Lilly was diagnosed with a very rare form of Lymphoma the day after her second birthday.

As you can imagine the Winterbottom family’s entire world was flipped upside down as Lilly’s journey was just beginning. Children’s Cancer Connection was always there for them every step of the way and has never stopped being there to support their family.

“Children’s Cancer Connection let us know that we were not alone on this journey and provided many resources to make this trying time as easy as possible,” Austen recalls.

Service Legends is committed to improving the lives of those in Des Moines and its surrounding communities. Through various community-centric programs Service Legends Heating and Cooling has donated and installed over 270 furnaces for families in need and during last year’s inaugural Tune-Up Challenge, donated $1,200 to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
